Getting to Orford by carpool

How to reach Mont Orford (Orford) by carpool: typical trips, meetup points, parking, transit, and Allons rewards.

Mont Orford watches over Magog and Lake Memphremagog, with trails for every level and a view that rewards every ride up. Add Magog’s restaurants for après-ski and you’ve got one of the most complete days in the Eastern Townships.

A handy tip: the ski resort and Mont-Orford National Park are neighbours, but each has its own entrance and parking. This page covers the resort; the park has its own, right next door.

Suggested meetup points

The Allons covoiturage app finds a meetup point for you automatically — and here are a few suggestions if you want them.

  • Magog, Route 112 junction

The last town before the mountain: fill up, grab a coffee, regroup and head up together.

  • Highway 10, Magog / Orford exit

A handy meetup for Montreal cars that would rather skip downtown Magog.

  • Sherbrooke downtown lots

Thirty minutes from the mountain, Sherbrooke folks have Orford in their backyard. An often-overlooked starting point — and perfect for spur-of-the-moment outings.

Access

Highway 10 to Magog, then Route 112 and chemin du Parc. From Sherbrooke it’s about 30 minutes — closer than you’d think! The road runs alongside the national park: skiers in winter, hikers in October, same good mood.

Parking

The resort lot is at the base of the slopes, separate from the national park’s. One car for the crew, and everyone hops out in the right place, ready to ride up.

Public transit

The intercity bus gets you to Magog or Sherbrooke; Allons handles the last few kilometres. From downtown Magog it’s a 10-to-15-minute ride, and the lifts are waiting.

Skiing and lifts: you’re in the right place. Hiking, Stukely Lake beach or Sépaq camping: head to the national park page. The entrances aren’t in the same spot, so you might as well pick the right one before leaving.
