Getting to Mont-Orford Park by carpool

How to reach Mont-Orford National Park (Orford) by carpool: typical trips, meetup points, parking, transit, and Allons rewards.

Mont-Orford National Park is the Eastern Townships in a nutshell: summits with panoramic lookouts, lakes to paddle, Stukely Lake beach for hot days and campgrounds where you fall asleep to the sound of frogs.

It’s next door to the ski resort, but each has its own entrances and parking. This page covers the park: hiking, beach, camping. From Magog or Sherbrooke, one shared car is all it takes to go from town to trail in minutes.

Typical trips

Usual driving distances and times, not an Allons trip count. Savings assume 3 people in the car; avoided CO₂e uses 0.21 kg/km, the same factor as the Allons dashboard.

Suggested meetup points

The Allons covoiturage app finds a meetup point for you automatically — and here are a few suggestions if you want them.

  • Magog, Principale / 112

About ten minutes from the park. Grab a coffee, leave the extra cars and pile into one.

  • Stukely entrance (beach and campground)

The beach and campground entrance, separate from the mountain-trail gate. Mention it on your Allons trip so everyone ends up in the same place.

  • Highway 10, Magog exit

For Montreal cars that would rather avoid downtown Magog. Regroup and head straight to the park.

Access

Highway 10, Magog, then chemin du Parc. 25 minutes from Sherbrooke, about ten from a café on Magog’s rue Principale. Two hubs to choose from: the mountain (trails and lookouts) or Stukely Lake (beach). Say which on your trip, and everyone lands at the right picnic.

Parking

Sépaq lots, with an access fee, and a lovely view as soon as you step out of the car. In July at the beach and October on the trails, head out with your crew: one stall, everyone aboard, and the day is off.

Public transit

The intercity bus gets you to Magog; Allons handles the 8 km to the park. A short ride from downtown and you’re in hiking mode… or swimsuit mode.

Local FAQ

Yes, if the whole crew does both at the same times. Otherwise, plan two Allons trips: one to the resort, one to the park. Each has its own parking.
